Some Boyette trails closed until further notice
« on: July 30, 2011, 03:33:18 PM »
Ridgeline has been closed since heavy rains a few weeks back made it too slick to ride.  Now that it is dry the erosion has damaged several areas that require major repairs, along with SWAMP Thing.  The exit of Ridgeline is rutted out and overgrown - alligators actually lay across the trail there sometimes!

A few people have ridden Ridgeline anyways and tires have caused more damage.

So - SIDEWINDER; SWAMP THING; RIDGELINE are all closed until we can get  a few workdays set aside to repair the damage.

Thank you for understanding and staying off of closed trails.

Ive been noticing you guys building a new trail past ridgeline near the fire road. What kind of trail will that be I saw one following the fire trail then it branched off deeper in. looks cool!

That will be the extension of Sidewinder.  In the rainy season, when we need to close SWAMP Thing and Ridgeline, Sidewinder will be open and available for a fun ride to bring riders around to that side of the property.  (Hopefully the hogs don't work it too much!)

It needs a few more workdays to finalize, then hopefully open it soon!

Sidewinder, SWAMP Thing and Garry's Loop have all been repaired and ready to ride again.  Also Golf Cart where the worst of the hog damage was has been repaired and I think people will really like the results.

Unfortunately Ridgeline and Big Drop are still closed.  We will be looking for some generous volunteers to lend a hand soon so we can also bring those trails back online.

Meanwhile Julianne needs your help at Alafia this coming Saturday so please give some of your time to her too as the rains and heavy popularity of those trails needs a bunch of volunteers to fix some of it's woes.

Thanks to all who give back to the trails they enjoy riding whenever they want!
