Alert: Stupid 29er Question
« on: September 21, 2011, 05:55:19 PM »
I'm thinking of making the switch from a 26er to a 29er. My stupid questions is: Do most of the parts on 26ers transfer to 29ers or is it mostly like starting from scratch? Obviously the wheels are larger, but, say, can I move my driver train over? Thanks.

all you need is a frame and wheels and maybe some longer cables.

Don't forget the elitist attitude that comes with riding a 29er.  Also tubes...you need bigger tubes.

You'll also need bigger, strong legs (if going the SS route) and a wider bar + the ability to handle the slightly deferred agility in quick turns ;)

Also, you'll need to be able to handle all the flak you'll catch from your 26er friends when you start smokin' their asses ;)
