Weekend Camping/Biking recommendations?
« on: December 04, 2011, 09:22:18 PM »

Looking to do a little 3-day camping/riding adventure in the next couple of months, can anyone recommend any good parks that are within a days drive? All the local spots are too close (santos would be good but we are going for the FTF) and I don't know of any others!

Maybe something up by Jax or southern Georgia? Gonna have a mix of decent riders and newbies, so something with good trail mapping would be great.

Thanks!

Sorry, should have mentioned that I (we) live in Tampa and ride those trails every weekend!

So, something outside of this area!

Really?  I mean..really...  At least respond with something meaningful.  Something that will assist this dude in life.  Here, allow me to demonstrate an example:

29er.

(Most) always down for a ride in the Gainesville area

Not much worth a 3 day trip unless you go way up to the Atlanta area or North Georgia mountains.

Or FATS in SC?

me and my friends from back in VA make an annual MTB/Camping trip and this is our next destination.  It looks awesome.  We're gonna try to hit it sometime in the spring.

"Within a days drive" you have lots of options. Hard to suggest without knowing what you're after.

Check these:
Pisgah area
Ellijay
Warrior Creek/Dark Mountain
Tsali

Oak Mountain State Park, Birmingham, Alabama.  Excellent camping (including cabins if you want) and days of trails for every level rider.
