We might as well close this thread.  All this guy does is log in annually to tout the CX race;)

My olny experience with a CX rider was two weeks ago at Santos... he got hurt before we went 3 miles....

Had the wrong tool for the job there.

Jesse, the forum is for all to use/post as they wish.  Dan (Latte) happens to be a long time SWAMPer.  He is a little busy working outside and coordinating all things needed to hold a STATE WIDE Championship CX race and may not come here as those of us who use the forum more often.  By the way, he is also planning/bidding on having a NATIONAL CX event in our backyard.  Which may be a first around here.  At last year's event, he was told by several MTBers to add an MTB class to the CX state championship race and he did.  Only to have 2 racers show up for the MTB class.  So I can't blame the guy for trying to advertise this state wide race.  Just like all others that come here to advertise their events/races.  So if you have what it takes to compete at the state level with other CX racers, go for it. That is all he was trying to challenge anyone on here.

Sure the Huracan is a tough event.  Just different type.  Isn't the Huracan at a different date?  I think the NK ride is in same weekend as the State CX Campionship.

Anyway... have fun which ever way you want to prove yourself that you have what it takes :-) ...  Carry on... Back to the rock I came out of... :-)

TOUGH is a totally relative term.

For example, I rode to work and back on Tuesday 100 plus miles.  It wasnt the toughest thing I have done but to some an impossible feat.

Regardless...

Any race where you go out hard for a small amount of time is going to be tough.  Be it xc, bmx, cx or MTB.

Anaeorobic efforts are by far some of the hardest things to do for anyone.

BUT, is it the TOUGHEST thing to do???

That is the question.

How can you truly determine who is toughest?  what do you use to measure such a thing? Is it the terrain? The length of the challenge?

In my opinion its impossible to tell really.  Cause Tough is a relative term.

Now starting a post saying who is the Toughest cyclist in Florida does get peoples attention?

Is the toughest cyclist the guy who wins a cx race that last less than an hour?

Or is it a guy who rides 300 mostly off road miles in 30 hours?

does that even make them tough or does it just make them fast?

Maybe if the post would of been titled who is the "FASTEST" cyclist in Florida there would be less to discuss... LMAO.

Latte is a good guy though and I totally support CX racing, in fact I plan on attempting at some point in my life those endurance CX races.

I didn`t want to get every one so upset. I guess I should of explained myself better. I have been in the swamp club for many years and see alot of mtbers.I would love to see more mtb`s at the cx races in the state.Last year`s pro 1 class a roadie walked away from the field,it would be cool to see a mtb give him a run for his money this year.
We are having a ss class and a mtb class this year, again it would be great to see more mtb`s come out.First time racers are welcome!
So,if you are not busy January 8th, come out and try something new.
Thanks,
Latte

You just may get your wish this year Dan.  Rumor has it Mr. Woodall may make an apperance.  If not him, Drew Edsall has it on his race calendar.  He has been walking away from the field at other FL CX races.  But he is doing a 12 hrs MTB race at Amelia the day before so not sure if he will be able to do both in the same weekend.  See you there.

Karlos,
So if my "thingie" is bigger in length than yours, does that mean I am tougher?  LMAO... J/K.. You make excellent points.  Is all good.   ;D
