please determine the fate of my dog
« on: May 15, 2007, 09:48:06 AM »
My puppy named "heaven" decided to chew my avid juicy carbon fiber brake lever.

left alone with my bike, which was upside down because i was working on it, she chewed the end off my carbon brake lever.

so help me decide her fate

here is a pic of the guilty party

I voted other.... explanation:  take treats away from bike owner for forgetting to leave the bike so accessable to pet...  hey... I was going to say, take owner and drop him off on the wrong side of town but I get the feeling you might enjoy that too much....    ;D ;D ;D

I would have to say too cute, but that is only because I caught such a cute likeness with the action shot  :) :)

And if we do nothing we might actually get to see how stan's really works  :) :)

im going with other...

i love dogs..  but that is a delemia....  i think i would whack the dog once or twice  >:( and that would be the end of it.....  ;)

you just cant hurt there feelings.. i know my dog does about 20 or 30 dumb things a day but hey he's big and goofy.. so sometimes you got to straighten him out but then its over.....

..now if it was a cat that would be a different story..

oh by the way did you use the word CUTE in your poll??  mountain bikers dont say cute, do they ??  LOL

 ;D   ;D   ;D   ;D   ;D   ;D

i did use the word cute which she isn't with the "WET" look

maybe i should go to Sam's Club and get an industrial container of hair gel and make her go "wet look" for a week...it isn't pretty as you can clearly see here:

I said other cause you were only asking for that problem to occur. Just make sure you don't have any valuables laying around for Heaven to get to. Then have plenty of treats to keep Heaven occupy while you're gone.

i hear you on that - she is going on 5 months and that is the first thing other than her toys she has chewed on.  We consider ourselves lucky because my dogs in the past did way more damage than that.

the crappy thing is she had to walk past all these to get to the bike:

squeeky cupcake
squeeky monkey
little stuffed bear
kong toy w/puppy nip stuff inside
rawhide chew stick
rawhide chew bone
3 mis matched socks (her favorite toy)
tiny soccer ball she can fit in her mouth (she will go get it when you throw it but never brings it back)
a tug-o-war rope

At least it was only a $90 mistake - if it would have been a pair of her mothers $400 dolce and gabana shoes this thread would have been more serious in nature - haha

at least she didn't get the saddle or the hoses. Brake fluid + Puppies = Big vet bill.  Even though she is "Cute" she is still young and probably won't get why you are punishing her. Just think now you have an excuse to buy more stuff for the bike!! ;D

That's one of those live and learn moments we all encounter with a pup. You learned not to leave you're bike where she can get to it. And the dog learned brake levers are not as fun when going out the other end.  :)

other - take treats (aka bike) away from owner for leaving vulnerable to attack from obvious alien forces!
