Are you all using regular PT lumber or rough cut PT?  The regular PT lumber does get slick, but the rough cut stuff seems to work well over time.

Any type of 3M industrial strength Non-skid material will do the Job - same stuff we used in the military for similar situations - to make slippery crap not so slippery.   I would avoid any type of metal mesh that may eventually rust, slice the crap out of of tires or skin, or pother wise shred those who are on trails over their skill level.

Also - an intermediate level class would be a great thing to take folks from Wes' class at WTA to the next skill level.  The fee could cover some SWAMP expenses and could be held at Boyette and Alafia during the same month say 10.00 per class and cover the trails at both places.  lets face it what is intermediate at Boyette and intermediate at Alafia is not always the same thing...  The draw back - finding someone to teach the class that everyone would feel has the "credentials" to do so and who is willing to do so.

ProEdgeBiker: Carter's finger has a beautifully designed/built boardwalk TTF on an advanced trail - designed to be ridden in two directions. It has no sharp angled direction changes - unlike North Creek's advanced TTF, with a 30 degree top transition and steep drop into another 30 degree bottom transition onto the trail.

So far, my thinking is to "round off" the top transition and coat the surface using waterproof concrete paint with sand and a color to match the surrounding dirt/clay. Perhaps the intermediate rider will then commit without thinking, ride down the ramp and congratulate themselves.

Just curious why not take the wood out like it was before. I thought the ramp was only for the race that happened after it was put in, Then I realized it was perm.

You can buy truck bed liner by the gallon and apply it with a roller.  Sand and paint would probably be cheaper though.

Make it natural.  Rock it and roll with it.
