Large rocks would be an amazing feature, but it seems like a lot of work went into the ramp. I vote for some type of sand/paint mixture.

rocks will just be moved, best to work with the ramp that's there now - add non-skid, or bed liner paint or paint w/ sand/gravel and move on.

A really novel idea - don't ride it right after a rain? jesh I know its a radical idea and I should be flogged like Molly...

Treat the area as a test of your skills...get your speed up before the ramp, make sure you pointed in the right direction as you start going down, and don't touch your brakes.

Add sign at entrance: Caution, wood ramps are slippery as hell when wet, ride at your own risk. Or just walk for a little bit.

something to keep in mind--if bedliner is non-slip enough, it will probably outlast the wood.

Roofing shingles have the benefit of being ready to ride immediately after being installed with zero down time, traction is good wet or dry, and it seems there's less of an environmental concern than applying paints or coatings.   Doesn't Markham use a lot of shingles?  Seems to work well there.

Concrete it .. rough rocky mix... then we can ride our road bikes on it... :)

Rino liner may be the best bet....

Yes, I have to concrete a few rocks into the Spider Berm Trail at Boyette because someone felt they needed to take them out to be able to ride it.  Hell with learning bike skills.  It was a simple roll-over and even an option to go around it too!

Has anyone mentioned the material used on top of skateboard decks?  That stuff is meant to stick to wood (not sure about how it handles getting wet) and can take a serious beating...
