For those having issues with the ramp, read this and keep reading this until you understand what it is trying to tell you:   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circle_of_forces

Tar not good idea...makes it very difficult to replace, which will be necessary.

Has anyone mentioned the material used on top of skateboard decks?  That stuff is meant to stick to wood (not sure about how it handles getting wet) and can take a serious beating...

Just in case it was missed....skateboard grip tape.  problem solved.

That looks too scary.  Besides there is no power for it out there on the trails.  Us GEEZERS will need something a bit safer.  Maybe something like a moveable bridge on skids and pull by a rope like the this one:

Good news fellow riders! This forum shows many people who can comment on HELP, but no one who can actually HELP. Until now...  Alafia Ranger Nate Richards and fellow swamper, advanced rider stepped up to the challenge and has completed improving our NorthCreek ramp TTF. He has applied coats of a special non-skid formula paint to the ramp’s surface. I have pedaled this ramp backwards and forwards and can see the excellent results. Please thank Ranger Nate the next time you see him on a weekend at the Alafia entrance gate. Ranger Nate will be providing more future improvements.

Sincere thanks to Nate for the hard work :)
It makes me think though. My nephew is 8 and has ridden that ramp wet. Do we need to put side railings and non skid surfaces on every advanced section so no one falls off?

"... need to put side railings and non skid surfaces on every advanced section..."
Perhaps you will notice "anthonyi" that North Creek is an INTERMEDIATE trail - duh?. It has only ONE advanced section (Buzzard) and it does NOT have any added surface on the TTF! Duh?

Had a chance to speak with Ranger Nate today in the lot, very nice guy. Hopefully I corrupted him by telling him about Strava. I'm hell bent on cracking the top ten on Roller Coaster.

At the end of the day today I rode NC, and sure enough there was Nate putting on another coat of non slip paint.

It's nice to have a ranger that rides, and a MTB voice on park staff can only help!

Thanks for all you do.
