Pandemonium Middle Climb
« on: January 01, 2013, 05:44:49 PM »
Can somebody post a video of clearing the Pandemonium Middle Climb just so I have the encouragement of someday, if I work hard enough, and get better, I can do it too?  Lol.  So close, but still no joy!  I cleared everything on the Intermediate tour today, get to that dang tree, slip out on the roots and just fall over on it AGAIN!  Please show a padawan how it's done!

That climb has gotten badly eroded.  It's on the To-Do-List to fix.

I don't use brakes, but momentum you state is key.  At that point after the technical stuff before I am usually in low gear and speed/traction become a problem.  I suppose I need more legs and experience to push a bigger gear and go faster so that spinning out and falling over is not a problem.

That climb (both options...the one with the tree or the steeper one) is great as is.  Improve the rider...don't make the trail easier.

Alan, I actually like the challenge, I just want to see somebody do it as a way to see how I can improve and inspiration to one day reach that level where I can on a consistent basis. It is a black trail, after all.  I was sad when they filled in some of the harder root sections on inner loch ness and baby nessie, because it made them so much less challenging. (these are intermediate trails, however)  It is tough to find a balance between erosion and challenge, our trail maintenance folks do a good job of having multiple different areas for all different skill levels.

Kinda like why I still ride a hardtail and some people ride SS rigids, I like the challenge to kep it interesting, and if you don't feel sore after absorbing all the roots and rocks it doesn't feel like real mountain biking.  I ride for fun!

A wall ride would be sweet though!
