Buzzard Bay rollover is GONE !!
« on: April 01, 2013, 02:35:49 AM »
I know what you are thinking...  why did the trail boss remove the really cool log rollover half way through Buzzard Bay? - just "dumbing down" the trail?   >:(   Nope.  After many years of service - the termites and large chain rings split that old log in half - breaking away the right end. So, there was no longer a riding line available to get over the TTF.  I had to cut out the left end - producing a diminished rollover.

Trails change over time - get over it.  More TTFs will pop up elsewhere as trees fall in the swamp.

At least I got over it once before it was gone. I'll miss the challenge of making it over without going for a swim.

I have several dropped chains, bruises, and one green slime bath from that damn log.  I don't know if I should weep tears of joy or wistful yearning.
Smite me fondly

Should be replaced  :(

Isn't Buzzard Bay a "HARD" option?

I always thought the hardest part was making it through the trail while holding my breath...not the log.

I remember a similar thread on here when the one and ONLY one big root disappeared from the Hartbreak ridge trail at Morris Bridge.  Termites, dry wood, things happen...

But yes, cast my vote to re-build something bigger and better on the same spot.  Poop Loop should remain a hard option.  Even though I would only clean it 1 out 3 tries.

^^^ darn, I miss my Vassago Opti.. Murf's new baby.

It actually hasn't smelled the past few times I've ridden it. Was going to post and ask where all the buzzards went off to.

The log wasn't really the hard part. The roots after the log were the worst. About the time I figured out how to deal with them they got smoothed over and I must say that I don't miss them one bit. We could always replace the old log with a telephone pole section  ;D
