Demo'd same one at Alafia, rode all the BLACKS as normal - handled exceptionally well. You will like it.

Im kidding, its an excellent bike.

It has handled everything I threw at it - with me being the limiting factor, not the bike. It is better equipped than other full suspension 29ers at the price point.

What level are you looking at?

After riding a Monicog everything else pales in comparison.

The cog deserves a better speller.

Disregard the mono-tards. All they long for is some schadenfreude to go with their Giant hater-ade.

I was able to demo one, all day, from Outspokin bicycle when they had their grand opening. Got in 24 miles at Balm and felt like I could've kept riding all day -- the rest of the crew was done. It blew through the ups and down of Abyss so easily I had to brake to turn at the top of climbs. It's slack geometry gave me so much more confidence on Ridgeline, it was a blast.

I only have two critiques. 1. The dropper seatpost handlebar lever requires a lot of pressure, ended up using my palm instead of my thumb to press it. 2. Carving the tight turns in the quadrants required me to slow down more than I'm used to, and getting the 29-inch wheels back up to speed is noticeably more work than on a 26-er.

Overall, I loved the bike and think it's a great value. I'd buy one, but there are a few other bikes I feel compelled to demo before pulling the trigger.

I've had my X1 since last August.  Awesome bike!  Mine has about 400 miles on it now.  I had the same problem with my dropper post.  I finally figured out if I squirted GT85 through the little hole under the seat, it would lube the cable and make it move easier.  Just my experience.

Have fun but be careful.  My bike inspired me a little too much and I've wrecked hard twice.  Broken collarbone once and knocked out a tooth second time.  Both on Black trails.  My fault, not the bike.
