Going to Tsali
« on: September 12, 2013, 10:41:33 AM »
I will be taking the new stumpy to Gatlinburg next month with plans to spend a day at Tsali. Anyone know of any local trail gems in that area that I could hit while there?

Flint ridge looks like fun. I will definitely check that out. Really, I wish that I had time to get over to Pisgah or Dupont but I don't think that will be possible. I am looking for a spot with some technical riding so I can test out the new bike on serious terrain.

Well, Thanks to our wonderful government Tsali was closed. I did get to ride Flint Ridge and that trail is a blast. I did make it over to Bent Creek in Asheville and rode Greens lick, ingles field and wolfs den. That place is killer. I strongly suggest everyone ride that system. It is worth the 10 hour drive for sure.

I see this is an old post, but I figure I'd throw in a comment for anyone heading to the area. Tsali is awesome, but make sure you check the days for mountain biking. Some days they have the trails open to equestrians only, others to hikers and MTB'ers. If you're in the area, Jackrabbit Mountain isn't too far away and it is a killer ride.

Unless something has changed recently one side is used for MTB while the other for equestrian, then the sides switch so on any given day you can ride something.
