Garmin Etrex mount
« on: September 24, 2013, 11:08:06 AM »
Hello - Anyone want to weigh in on the best way to mount an Garmin Etrex GPS unit to a mountain bike so that it stays secure on bumpy trails? I've tried a couple of products. I've tried mounting to the stem and the handlebar. Everything is fine on smooth roads, but any bumps and the unit starts moving around. It's highly annoying.

I run the stock mount on my stem on a HT, never an issue even on all day epics

I use that too with good results on my mtb and road bike...as long as I make sure that the device is fully 'clipped in' to the mount. If not, it will fly off the bars.

Yup. Lost mine in Vortex due to install error. Otherwise it does the job well on even the roughest of trails.
