Santos 50 miler
« on: May 29, 2007, 09:44:24 PM »
who is down to do a Santos 50 miler?

we can do a route that brings us by the trailhead 2-3 times so we can set up our own sag points in coolers in our vehicles.  not sure what speed everybody would want to pace to finish this... i am guessing this is going to be around a 6 hour endevar.

Sort of planning on being out there on Saturday.  I like to get miles at Santos, but I would rather start at the parking lot and ride all the way out across the freeway to the other parking lot. Chiselchest is talking about parking someplace close  to the Vortex or some shi#$% like that and that should be in the middle area. I don't  really care, I up for it. If we hit the easier yellow and blue trails for the bulk of these miles it should be pretty easy. Start early in the morning and we won't need too much water. Haven't been out there for a while.

i am down to ride saturday...allthough i dont know if i can hang with you fast boys pace..there is surely somebody that would want to meander around a 9.5 mph pace for 50 miles (around 5 1/2 - 6 hours including stops)

We can work it out. I dunno 'bout that 9.5 mph though. Ride with faster people to force yourself to go faster. It works. Been there done that, at Santos too!
