First Time Mountain Biking
« on: February 23, 2014, 10:57:17 PM »
Today, my girlfriend and myself went to Alafia for the first time and LOVED it. This trail us even more hooked. We usually ride on the Upper Trail of Tampa Bay which is all paved, so this was our real first time mountain biking.

Also wanted to say the trails are awesome and very well layed out and maintained, I am happy that I joined this group so that I can volunteer my time off. Thanks again for the great work.

Attached are my "victory" marks... lol

The trees were rude and didn't move out of the way when I was turning the corner. :-) lol. So much fun!

Just make sure to get Gloves to go with the Helm, Hydro Pack will help a lot also, Bottles are ok, but tend to get dirt all over them.  I carry a Small First aid Kit, in my Pack also.  have a Topeak Bag under seat with Built in Tool set, I keep Small thing of Bug Repellent in it also.  We normally run Alafia Friday Mornings Hope to see you there.
I Try to ride 2-3 Days a Week, also Like Kayaking, Paintball & Any Kind of Games.

I would hate to state the obvious but what makes this comment interesting is recently in a comment you made was to make sure you had gloves too funny

Giant had there New 650bs out at Alafia & I wanted to try One out, So I waited in a Long Line, finally got one to try and headed to Roller Coaster fast as I can, but I had been waiting and forgot to get my Gloves before heading out, well ride was Great Loved the wheel size, didn't care for the Giant's suspension system as much, but that's another story, any way, we was going to cross and head to other side of park, Bridges, Franks, etc and I dropped back behind my friend a ways as he went up the rocky hill right behind restroom Building, he hit the top and I had taken off to get little air and Crap he stopped up top I hit brakes & Turned to side, Crash, and My Hand came down Dead on top of a large sharp edge. went back riding the week the stitches came out 8)
