Fat tire?
« on: November 08, 2016, 10:39:46 PM »
So I went to the FTF last weekend... I demo-d a Salsa Bucksaw duel suspension fat bike and I loved it! Sooo... fat tire the way to go? It was a fun ride. I currently ride an 8 year old Giant Yukon hardtale and the Salsa blew me away. I know - shocking. When I drop the coin, should I go fat? I'm pretty new to the club and my skills are... adequate. Thoughts?
If this has been covered in previous posts, I apologize.

Buy what will make you want to ride.

You could drop $12k on a cannondale scalpel black, but if it doesn't make you want to ride it, it was the wrong bike. If you can spend $500 on a bike you want to ride every day, you won.

Fat bikes are tons of fun for sure but there are so many great bikes out there in a variety of wheel and tire sizes. You may want to consider trying out some others if you aren't sure you want to pull the trigger just yet. There is another fat tire festival coming up at Santos (I think in a few months).
