Mtb vacations/week-end trips
« on: June 08, 2007, 08:28:02 PM »
I met the Beercan  and Trek 8500 today. They say they are going up to do the Shenandoah 100 and now the Fools Gold  in mid August.  Nice little get aways. Anyone else have any MTB related  trips planned?
I'm doing the 6 Gap road ride in North Georgia as of now. It would be nice to get back to the mountains before that. Had a blast on the last trek up there. Who's going where?

I have been thinking about that Jamaican Fat Tire Festival that was posted this past winter. Sounds like that was a good time. Money permitting, who knows mon, let the hair go, grow some dreds, and be ridin'  the hills Jamaica style mon!   ;D

I would like to try someplace out of the ordinary I wouldn't normally think of.  North Alabama has mountains, right?  I hear there are some cool trails in Las Vegas.  Well, not this time of year.   ::)
Mt. Rushmore area?  Probably some cool trails to be found off the beaten path.   :D

I'll be making my now annual trip to Colorado in late Aug. Biking 1/2 day and hiking w/ the family for 1/2. I'll be gone 2 weeks. 2 years ago we were there for 9 weeks. I was able to travel to Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. I love those mountains.
My bike is more than a toy; it's my vessel.

Colorado would be cool.  Golden has good trails, very bike friendly and the Coors plant is right there. ;D

The SWAMP Club is preparing an announcement to Club members about a trip this year to Virginia, in the area of the Shenandoah.

Details will be found in the Club newsletter delivered by the first week of July.

Asheville trip in October is already full.

(Club membership is only $20 per year)

Thats right! Dauset. Forgot about that one, FactorE.  What  was that date again? You should re-post that every now and then to keep it on the front page.

I'll be in Sedona/ Flagstaff AZ during the the 4th of July, I'm looking forward to riding around there, even though it will be insanely hot. Oh well, poor me. I might just have to ride down hill, both ways to stay cool.

My Brother in Law works for COORS, I got a tour of the facility, very cool!

The trails around Red Rocks Ampitheater are very cool. I wasn't yet riding agian when I was there in the begining of April. That is definitely a place that I want to ride. I did get to walk some of the trails.
