I think I'm going to do that as well...maybe on my Intense if I can't get my Blur up and running by then.

Does anyone have a link to an up to date map of the trails that Ray mentioned above?  The map on the RR website is out of date.  My access to their forum was never approved  :'( so not sure if they had a link.  Can someone email me the map or post here please?  Thanks.

Might be a lot of carnage after hour number 4 and fatigue sets in. The Beast was kickin' my butt on Saturday after mile 33. All those little roots and ledges semed like giant killers.   :-[

Sandpine, you weren't approved because you wiped out on Sandpine. On your application, change it to you wiped out on the Vortex, and you will get the approval.   ;D

Yea, I should change my nickname soon.  I am not worthy of "vortex king" though.  How about "vortexwhimp" ??

I have a laminated copy of the map I got from the Silentneko.  Sweet. I might glue it to the ass of Chiselchest to cover over the holes in his spandex.  ;D  Either  that or get faster and stay in front of him.  As far as the nickname goes .....

if you ride behind NK you may get wrapped up in the carnage! I know it is going to be scary behind him on those drops! :o

You dont want to be behind me on the drops.

I will have to control my speed and you will be able to coast them through.  Im racing to win, so I may have to run certain things for the sake of strategy.

I will most likely have a crashless day, just like I had a crashless Felasco Fixed Fitty.

What happens during the drops? Is it a scene that might remind me of the Flintstones or is there another way to scrub your speed?

You either spin it out. Or you grab the front brake and slow your pedals down, the front brake is actually powerful enough to slow you down.  In a pinch I can kick my left heel down and stop the pedaling and skid, but thats often not necessary.  I am confident that I may be able to clean the course Fixed.

I will find out and do what is fastest and most efficient in order to win!

I'm gonna go out this Sunday and do 4 of the red course laps, hopefully I can figure out what kind of pace and what I need to bring to support myself. Never done anything like this, beyond the Tour de Felesco, so I have no idea beyond extra water and some PB&J's to eat. Hopefully I can figure out some of this stuff before the race and have a decent race.

I'm riding out there Saturday. Looking at doing 3 laps of the red course.  My pace is right at 10mph out there on the red course for multiple laps.  Will be using multiple gears. most of my suspension and all of my brakes.

If I remember correctly, it is a mass start burlap bag sack race of about 100 yards to where the bikes are and then off to the trails.
