Helmet Cams??

I am considering getting a helmet cam in the near future and see that some HD models are now out.

VholdR Contour HD and the newest Go Pro HD (out this fall).

The Go Pro HD seems to be some competition for the Contour HD as far as quality of picture goes.

Anyone offer some additional insight or thoughts /differences?

paging ProEdge....paging ProEdge.  I am also interested in the new GoPro HD, but currently, I think the Contour HD has the best picture.

I'm on my third vHoldR.   First one started machine gunning audio and video after a few minutes about 5 months into its life. Second one powered down every time I hit a bump, thinking the battery would lose contact - did this right from day one.  Third one is so far so good with 2 days of shooting.

USB transfer to computer is slow but if your computer doesn't have a slot for the microsd adapter then it is what it is.  gopro is far more weather resistant.  1m microsd cards fill up quick so go with 2m and have a few of them.

I don't like that the vholdr gives you no helpful feedback.  Aside from beeps and lights you can't KNOW it's recording because there's no display to say the SD card is almost full or the battery is almost depleted.   No idea if gopro offers these features but I'd sure like to have them.
vholdR's mounts are displeasing.  Not much versatility if you'd like to mount the camera from unique angles.

Haven't played with HD versions, aside from picture quality the same issues would still be there I suspect.

yes, they are Water Resistant..
No, they are nothing like the 1st gen VholdR
