All the road stuff I have seen on this site today was the mentions of "roadie crap" in this post.  Bikes are bikes.  This strikes me as funny.

So the site just began to exist today? I don't think so. Historically there is a lot more roadie talk here than you'd expect on a mountain biking forum.

What difference does it make to you anyway eric? setting up a forum outside of the local club gives it more freedom to be what the people who use it or run it want... not tied down to make the members of the club happy or whatever. no policitcal correctness, over moderation, whatever. Roadies can have roadie forums and as much of this forum as SWAMP will give them. One of the freedoms of an outside forum is not having to please everyone, including you.... plus it can include members of other clubs, non-club members, newbies, and pretty much anyone who wants to talk Mountain Biking... We are not going to talk about Recumbent bikes, Tricycles, Hybrids, or wal-mart specials either... more people ride those than Mountain or Road combined!

haha - this is funny

you cant come up with enough relevant MTB stuff to make it more than the roadie stuff - even now that the roadie stuff has been pressed to the bottom of this forum to make s difference

what a joke

what is funny is people who think the world revolves around them and that it should do what they wish... if roadie stuff is so popular why are you not hanging out there? How many MTB'ers go on the Roadie forums ripping people and complaining that they want MTB sections? Really, it not JUST about roadie stuff anyway, but that is all you see...

All I said was why the hate?  Why is it "roadie crap"?  Your the ones who are anti-something, not me... well, I guess I am anti-alot.  If you want, you can make it a club for pudgy bald guys with mediocre riding skills and enough money to buy nice bikes, then it can just be the chosen few.  How is your last club doing anyway?  What was that called?  The one with the adds asking for money for rides but contributing zero to trail work?  It is sooo gone, I even forget the name!!!  Ahahahahaha.

You hijacked my post Darrin! I want a full apology or I will dispatch the Giantologist to ruin your reputation.

Sorry Catman... You are right. But i think you got your answer why this forum is going downhill fast... Eric, my old "Club" had over 60 hours of trail work... BTW, not looking at a club, forums are totally different. and just like before, I dont care what you think.

It seems like the amount of posts have diminished somewhat since the shoutbox was installed. I could be way off, but it seems like the timing was the same. And as much as I dislike the smite/applaud feature, do you think it kept people in check? I know the feature is still here but it is backward. Really I don't really know what I'm talking about.

But I do like the idea Darrin has. The more bike talk the better.

^youre right on both accounts. Shoutbox = barely any posting. Karma is kind of a cute feature but it's abused here by those that think neg repping people is funny. No shoutbox + no karma and I'd imagine a more helpful environment would be fostered.

I said the same things a long time ago. People actually pay attention to the karma thing? That is so highschool-ish. :)

I'm squatting tampabike.org and tampabiking.org - how about we just split that up into road and mtb sections? FE, wanna mod the road section?
