If my surly 13t cog arrives, I am down for wed. Dont need to be dropping any chains when the pitbulls are chasing. :o

You can also go bigger up front, i.e. 36, 38, 42...etc..

The climbs, dirt (sand) roads, and singletrack will require a compromise on gearing that the TACORIDE did not.

any void in "route creation" and adventure my departure might create seems to already be filled by MKSANDOZ!!!!!

hat's off to ya!

keep adventure alive and let riding in endless circles be the hell of those refusing to undertake a bit of chance!

MK, is there a date decided for this ride yet???

Is there anything I can do using topofusion, since I will only come out there to do the ride, to help sketch a viable gpx file??

Los-

I know you have a keen eye for these sorts of rides. If you want to use my track linked above as a guide and look for "dirtier" options that would be great. Particularly the route South from croom.

Luis suggests 7/23 but that date is probably not good for me. 7/30 might be better and give me time to plan out the route well enough to provide a GPX and cue sheets. Then we can have an all-drop ride and not worry about those that get dropped :)

Gonna have to put this ride temporarily "on hold" while I do more exploring. Turns out many of the roads I planned to use go thru dreaded "private property", which is a shame because there were some great roads and beautiful views. It's too bad, but this ride might have to use more paved roads than I would like.

After growing frustrated in SanAn i decided to go check out the Green Swamp lands, particularly the Cumpresso tract. I may pursue a good route for a group ride in the Green Swamp before I do any more work on the MEGARIDE.

Attached are some pics from the ride.

Also realized when I was deep in the Swamp that i forgot my inflator and hand pump. Prudence suggested I not go too far away from my car.

As the pic below shows, always listen to Prudence. I rode the last mile (paved) on a flat rear tyre.
