so i am training on a road bike now and seems to be making my MTBing much faster - what do you more experienced riders think a good ratio road vs mtb is. I remember back in the advanced class i took with Harvey (single most improvement i ahve made in 1 day ever on a bike) he mentioned that work on cardio on road and skills on the mtb trails. i have been doing that but i am curious what ratio o each most of the fast riders are doing? The fact that i am not a model of physical fitness might play into the consideration as well. i might need to do more fat burning type of riding compared to a person with a much smaller BMI score.
