Weight Weenie?
« on: January 30, 2009, 06:09:05 PM »
I've been wanting to weigh my bike for awhile now.  It was weighed at the shop when it was built up but I never actually saw the weight with my own two eyes.  I was told it weighed in at 25.5 lbs.

So I finally got a scale.  A Park Tool DS-1 digital scale.  Hung it from a hook in the garage and placed my COMPLETE bike on it.  And by complete I mean with pedals, computer, all of the protective tape I put on it, the Lizard Skins, and Jagwire tube top protectors...etc.  Plus a lot of dust from last weekend's 6 hrs of El Lagarto.  ;D

The verdict: 25 lbs. 5 oz.  Not too bad for a 5.5 inch FULL suspension bike.

So, my question is: Since I've weighed my bike, does that make me a weight weenie?  (Actually, I don't really care.  Just looking for an excuse to post the weight of my bike  :D )

Ibis Mojo SL-23.81 lbs.
Ibis Tranny-20.75 lbs.

Steps to becoming a weight weenie:

1) Shave legs

2) Wear spandex

3) Weigh bike

I'm guessing you already got 1-2 covered too..
