New years...fireworks in Tampa?
« on: December 30, 2006, 08:03:08 PM »
Does anyone know if theres going to be fireworks in downtown? (Tampa)
Me and my family would like to go watch some fireworks but we have no idea where to go. In Chicago they had fireworks the hole week before new years....and ended with a bang on New years.

Is there any other place we could visit to watch the fireworks?

Downtown St. Pete has a good fireworks display.  And if you can make it to the roof of the Pier you can see fireworks from the beaches, Tampa, and right near you off the waterfront at Vinoy Basin.

Another good place to go and watch the fireworks depending on where you are is Apollo Beach.

You can see the fireworks from MacDill AFB, see the fireworks from Channnel Side and if anything is going off downtown usually your able to see that too..  Just have to get there early enough, it tends to get a little crowded down there as people try to show up at the last possible minute...
