I need to learn to recognize and avoid this stuff when weedwacking.  I assume carrying a gallon of Round-up weed/grass killer would be frowned upon?

You might not want to use that to wipe your a$$.  :D

Even when sprayed the dead plant holds it's "itching power" for 7 years!

I seem to get it on my left arm once every month for the last 3 months from the trails at Alafia - which trail(s) is this stuff more prevalent on?

Thanks!

i worked only on North Creek and Gatorback, and don't remember specifically where I came into contact with it.  Using the weedeater sends little bits of cut up plant material everywhere and my underside of my forearms were covered in flakes of fern, other plants, including the poison ivy.

Next time I'll wear a long sleeve shirt also or find some form of contact prevention, maybe a jelly or savve of some sort.

But a buddy who rode with me a couple weeks ago also complain of it on his left arm.  This deserves some investigative effort.

The poison ivy at alafia does not look like that picture. The poison oak is just as prevalent and causes the same reaction in most people. After getting a few severe reactions over the last few years, I have become somewhat of an unfortunate expert in identifying the itchy culprits.

Don't worry Kevin, I got it pretty good on my arms also. Just scrub the heck out of it with a bar of soap. Pretty sure I got the poison oak, the rash looks a little different from poison ivy.

You do know that you just gave Catman another excuse to "catman" the workdays.  :D
