Thanks for all the responses.  Cuzzin said he wants to stay on a 26er or that sultan would be on!!  Thanks for the ajs tip dan, I will ask about the 08 x2s, they didn't mention that when I was in there.  The astrix was a little too xc, perfect for here but he will occasionally be on bigger stuff.  I wish I could see a motobecane in person somewhere.  I am going to check out art at university and also see if oliver's has anything today.

Eric, my first bike was a Motobecane.  You guys are welcome to take a look at it sometime if you want.

HAHAHA...mine was a 1988 Delta 98, red velour interior. Thing had at least 6 inches of travel. Less with 8 college friends and a keg of beer loaded up. :o

I never see Motobecane's on the trails. What's the scoop on them? I know they are a super old manufacturer but don't seem very popular.

Rob2 rides one and smokes everybody - the component sets that come with them are insane for the price

The components look good on paper that leaves us to wonder about the frame

I assume the frame is comparable to lower end bike shop models and the company doesn't have the and name recognition to demand top dollar. I'd compare to Novara, and maybe KHS.

actually the welds and frames look very nice - Rob Roberts bike looks sweet - I wouldn't discount that brand just because they arent a big name brand.

All the reviews that I have read are positive from owners of these bikes
