Criss Cross section on the ditch north of Techno Pig
« on: March 25, 2010, 09:45:05 AM »
I had a near collision in the ditch section of the trail where someone build a new criss cross dip into the ditch.  Why the criss cross in that area?  There is no room to stop if someone drops in at the same time from crossing side?  When you do pigliet or techno pig from south to north, you can drop into the ditch.  There used to be only one drop then two more were added closer to the tree by the rooty drop.  Now a new one has been added that criss crosses the others.  I scared the crap out of the slower rider that was in the dip when I drop in.  Sorry but was not expecting the trail to cross right at the bottom of that ditch.  Should it really be there?

I doubt it's supposed to be there but there are a bunch of alternate lines through there. Short of building railings it's going to be pretty hard to stop people from using the alternate lines. Only solution in my mind is to make 'bad' lines less obvious with debris.
I look at that ditch and the big sandy pit as a bit of a playground area. Have to keep your eyes open and be aware.

Actually the dips and drops have been there for years, as well as some trail . Mostly there are leaves covering them. Since there are a couple of them in the squiggy course they have been getting ridden.

It won't be long before someone has a T-Bone colison on there.  I had another close call yesterday.  Calling in the Gruff to paved the dips and block it...   >:(     LOL...
