8 hrs of Labor - Training ride at Balm Boyette
« on: July 27, 2010, 01:45:56 PM »
Roll call for Saturday 8-7 at Balm Boyette  - time 8:30 am - To get us ready for 8 hrs of Labor race I think we should do a 10 mile ride to see what kinda times we can make. I dunno what course will give us 10 miles but we should look at times of around 50 mins to complete. The race loop at San Felscos is about the same distance and should take 50-60 mins to complete (Huge demoralizing hills to deal with) running full bore. Whos In?

make sure you ride the open grassy fields in the middle of the day. you'll be doing that a lot at SanFel.

True.  A good 110 heat index day at Croom would do the trick as well.

shout box talking about this topic came up with a couple options -

1) warm up ride on 2 track -
loch ness, upper loch ness - randys trail - gator pit - golf cart - mt boyette - canyong - north abyss - south abyss  - spiderberm -

this should be at or near 10 miles

2) warm up on 2 track

loch ness  - upper loch ness - randys - gator pit - golf cart - mt boyette - canyon - spiderberm - west meadown and vista ridge.

I think i got that right.. What you think?

The only terrain at Boyette that even closely resembles what you will encounter at San Fiasco is East Meadow, you should incorporate that into your loop. Maybe ride it after or before jumping into the Abyss, maybe hit it twice coming and going. Glad I could help ;D
