need some brake help
« on: July 28, 2012, 10:14:23 AM »
my front brake is toast and i am now looking for a new set. I am currently running the Avid elixir 5 and while they have worked pretty well, I'm tired of the constant pad rubbing and no adjustment. they brake well and are smooth but as many of you know Avids aren't the best for maintenance free riding. I am so fed up i am probably going to simple BB7s, but......
what about other hydros out there? Hopes look nice, pricey though and not sure about rotors, mounts etc.
give me some options..... and oh yeah they must look cool too
wherever you go.....there you are.

One of those brake compaines (hayes maybe?) just came out with a brake rotor system that is stupid easy to adjust.  I'll keep looking for who makes them.  I will say though that I love my BB7's (7" rotors F/R and Organic Pads) and until I have 300-500 to drop on a set of hydros I'm sticking with them.  My next set of pads for these boys will be EBC reds....hello power.
