Orlando MTB Park Work Days
« on: October 07, 2015, 11:15:02 PM »
Hi all, having been riding SWAMP trails for a while, and recently moving to Orlando, I appreciate the work that goes into decent trails to ride that are close by.  There are few trails in Orlando that meet the standards of MTB fun, but now work has been resurrected on the urban Orlando MTB park.  This is a legit MTB park with Buy-in from the City of Orlando and SORBA / OMBA, that has been a couple of years in the making.  Proposed to be built on an old army base, the project got delayed a couple of years from soil contamination, but is now back up and running.

SORBA is asking for some volunteer help in the next few months to get this park opened to the public!  If any of you all live in the local area or are down to get in on helping to create the first urban MTB park in Orlando, please come out and participate.  If any of our expert trail builders can offer advice or resources, that would be appreciated too, I am sure.

Information on the park, photos, and workday events can be found on the FaceBook page here: https://www.facebook.com/Orlando-Mountain-Bike-Park-121589457912716/timeline/

Strava plot of the unfinished first cut of Singletrack is here: http://www.strava.com/activities/403732079

Exciting times for Orlando MTB fans!  ;D
Smite me fondly
